Accessibility compliance #1

Description

I thought this approach was great from the perspective of performance and simplicity. Unfortunately I can't find a way to make it comply with WCAG accessibility standards for anything other than the most basic menu. The WCAG standard (2+) mandates that the checkbox and label be close to one another. This affects the tab order as the elements appear in the DOM. This adds an extra unexplained tab when trying to open submenus. It's a shame. Would be a really nice solution otherwise.

Any thoughts on how to solve this problem?
