Camera freezing/crashing on final OnVUE test

I'm still having trouble with that VM issue I mentioned before. Even when creating a new VM, it fails at the same point, and I have to try a bunch of different workarounds to get it working (pretty sure it's firewall-related).

Once I do get it working, I can pass all the tests up until the final step. Everything goes smoothly during the mic, sound, and camera test screens. The network test passes fine. The running programs check is successful too.

The problem happens at the very last step - where you see yourself on camera while waiting for a proctor to approve you. I can see myself move for a few seconds, but then the feed completely freezes. Since I'm using the webcam for both video and audio, once the video freezes, the mic stops working too. It's like the webcam crashes or gets blocked somehow. The proctors had me restart and rejoin about six times, but the same thing happened every single attempt.

What's weird is that during the earlier camera check screen, the webcam works perfectly - I could leave it running for 10+ minutes and see myself without any issues. But on that final proctor waiting screen, I only get 1-10 seconds of movement before it freezes. I also noticed the camera feed on that screen has a significant delay (about 2 seconds between when I move and when I see it on screen).

This is a Logitech C270 webcam (I do see it on the VM in device manager too)

Yesss, Bro just to confirm. Was it also an issue when you was doing the checks days before the test on the environment check or only saw this error first time on the actual test?

on the check the device always freezing maybe because the vm too lag or not idk ive been put 6 cores 8 gb but still freezing

Mine will pass all the pre-tests fine. Like the screen where it has to test your microphone, your sound and then your camera. Mine will pass. It passes all tests, but at the final stage where waiting on the proctor to approve you to start, it will freeze. So it works all the way up to the end, but that final screen, right after it loads, the camera will freeze after a couple seconds.. usually within 10 seconds. When I get to that screen I can see myself moving but it is incredibly delayed, then all of a sudden itll freeze. It happened a half dozen times. They kept allowing me to reload the browser/restart my system, but it would do the same thing every time.

Just a quick question, when they ask you to show around etc how you think to pass that? Wilould it not be obvious your on a vm when they say can i see you screen too including envieonment

Can you try using a different webcam or an integrated one? My integrated one on my laptop works perfectly fine
