Helper not executable

I flashed a zip previously backed up with Migrate. I can't open helper but I can install an update to existing apk. The playstore gives me the option to update the app but it fails. What is the root directory of the apk? I would like to manually gut out any residual files to attempt to reflash and open helper. or simply install helper and see if it finally works.
