Exception when running on Android TV: Missing Feature{name=auth_api_credentials_begin_sign_in, version=7}

Thanks for providing this sample. I've cloned the project and got this working on several devices. My goal is to use the SignIn on the Android TV platform. Unfortunatly when running this on a Android TV emulator I get the following exceptions in my logcat:

com.google.android.gms.internal.auth-api.zbaz could not execute call because it requires feature (auth_api_credentials_begin_sign_in, 7).
Missing Feature{name=auth_api_credentials_begin_sign_in, version=7}

Does Firebase not support Android TV or is there something wrong in my emulator setup?

Hey Peter. Thanks for sharing that with me. Honestly, I didn't try to run this app on an Android TV, but from my experience, it should work correctly, on any other Android device. Most likely it's because of this, right?

Hi Alex, I encountered that post earlier and tried the solutions mentioned. Unfortunatly none of them seem to work. My view is that there it must be something related to the way Android TV emulator images. The sample works fine on mobiles (both physical and emulators) but for Android TV it only seems to work on physical devices.
I will rely on the physical device for now. I raised this issue to hopefully get to a solution in the future: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/260113040

I had the same problem but it happened on my phone. My phone is Samsung Galaxy A50

@AlexMamo I tried them but they didn't work. It works fine on other mobile devices, but only Samsung device doesn't work.

@AlexMamo Currently I am getting the error on my Samsung galaxy a50. I also tried it on a Samsung Galaxy S9 but didn't get this error. I think this error can also occur on some other devices that I don't have a device to try yet.
